Christian Universalists (to be distinguished from Unitarian Universalists) do not believe that Jesus can rightfully be called “the Savior of the world” (1 John 4:14) unless he actually saved the entire world. We believe that God has both the desire and the power to affect the salvation of all mankind, and that He does this, not through coercive threats, but through patient love that sometimes includes discipline and judgment. We believe that the traditional view of hell makes God into a monster worse than the likes of Adolf Hitler, a mean and vengeful deity who would ignore cries for mercy age after age from those precious souls He made in His image.A lengthy read, promises to be an interesting series to follow.
